A handful of surreal, a bit scary photos from an extinct city. A reminder of the difficult times and less than ideal decisions of the pandemic period.
Explore Warsaw and its Old Town as they appeared in the eerie early days of the pandemic through my photo collection. While the images might seem a bit unsettling, capturing the deserted streets wasn’t easy—I had to wait to get the perfect shot, as it wasn’t as empty as it looks. Just four days after the initial lockdown, even on a Sunday, the Old Town was virtually deserted.
I dedicate these photos to you all as a poignant reminder of those unprecedented times in Warsaw during the pandemic.
